• Match existing patterns in the codebase — naming, structure, import style — before introducing new ones.
• Prefer the smallest change that satisfies the requirement. Avoid refactoring beyond the task scope.
• Standard tooling assumptions: Node.js, TypeScript, npm workspaces, vitest, ESLint/Biome.
• When multiple approaches are equivalent, choose the one already present elsewhere in the repo.
